Nursing - A monthly publication, Nursing is the journal of choice among practicing nurses. Known for its easy-to-read style and commitment to quality, it keeps nurses up-to-date on peer-reviewed evidence-based practice about key clinical topics, including cardiac and respiratory care, new drugs, new treatments, and nursing techniques. Clinical illustrations, photographs, and charts help clarify complex clinical concepts. The journal also covers legal and ethical issues, professional trends and controversies.

The goal of Sinclair Talks is to broaden knowledge and engage students in discussion of various issues on and off campus. These events will take place in the library Loggia (second floor of the library) near building 5 at 12:00 noon on Wednesdays unless otherwise noted.

Library Desk Enhancements - 4/2/2012
Over Spring Break, new vinyl tiles were laid in front of the desk to replace fading carpet. In addition, cool lights at the front of the desk are now lit up! (Facebook fans can see a gallery here)
New Libguides Published - 1/27/2012
The library staff have been working to create new Libguides. Some of the latest are: Exercise, Nutrition and Sport Sciences, Citation Styles, Criminal Justice and Digital Music, Videos, & Images. See them all at - libguides.sinclair.edu/index.php
New Database! - 10/19/2011
Ancestry Library Edition - (On-Campus Access Only) Ancestry LE is part of a one year trial subscription. It provides access to family history via documents that record the lineage of individuals from North America, the U.K., Europe, Australia, and more. Ancestry Library Edition is distributed exclusively by ProQuest and powered by Ancestry.com.For the professional or hobbyist, expert or novice, genealogist, or historian, inside are more than 7,000 databases of family and historical information. New Database! - 7/18/2011
Mango Language Learning Center - Mango is an online language-learning system that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, Russian and more. It also offers English language lessons if English is not your first language. The system is divided into modules that have clear goals related to conversation and pronunciation. It uses a variety of teaching methods including flashcards, repetition, and cultural notes. It also contains a translation feature.

New Libguides Published - 7/14/2011
The library staff have been working hard over the summer to convert the old subject guides over to Libguides (Library Guides) and add new ones. Some of the latest are: Paralegal, STEM, and ones for classes on Scotland and Political Science. See them all at - libguides.sinclair.edu/index.php
New Group Computers in the Library - 4/11/2011
If you have not been to the Library lately, stop in to see the new computers put in behind Starbucks over Spring Break. There are 24 of them, (known as L25) in clusters of 4 and will be used by students who need to work on group projects needing computers. When not booked for this purpose, they can be requested through the Pharos system for individual use for a 2-hour time period.
Libguides Acquired - 4/4/2011
The Library has acquired Libguides, a hosted system that allows subject guides to be created using Web 2.0 features for a more interactive and richer experience. Look for our current subject guides to be replaced over the course of the year with this new format. In addition, guides focused on helping a particular course can also be generated, as well as guides to replace some of our current pages (such as our eBook page)

ScienceDirect & Scopus databases added - 12/30/2010
ScienceDirect - A full text database covering authoritative titles from the core scientific literature, including high-impact factor titles such as THE LANCET, Cell and Tetrahedron. It also includes a historical archive of journals from 1994 and older and some online books.
Scopus - Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources with smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. No Full Text.
Opposing Viewpoints Interface Changed - 08/31/2010
